Visitation to Garnet Health Facilities

Garnet Health recognizes that patients need the support of family and friends while they are in the hospital or visiting for an outpatient appointment or procedure. We welcome visitors and request that you follow our visitation hours and guidelines below. We appreciate your support and cooperation.

Garnet Health does not restrict, limit, or deny visitation privileges based on race, ethnicity, language, national origin, socioeconomic status, mental or physical ability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

Middletown Harris

Garnet Health Medical Center

Middletown Campus - Effective Mar 28, 2024

Garnet Health Medical Center inpatient visitors no longer require Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a proof of a negative COVID PCR or Antigen test.

Please note: No latex products, including latex balloons are permitted to be brought in by visitors. This is to reduce the risk of latex exposure and allergic reactions in patients and employees.

General Visiting Hours are 11:00 am – 8:00 pm

Screened visitors must be 12 years or older (18 years or older to visit the OB Unit "Rowley Family Birthing Center"). Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. No overnight visitation is permitted unless approved by administration.

Intensive Care Unit
Two visitors at a time. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. 3West (POD1-3101-3110) 16 years and older.

Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit / Cardiothoracic Surgery Step Down Unit
Two visitors at a time. 16 years and older. No flowers, food, or latex balloons allowed.

2 East
Open Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays by appointment only (9am - 11am). You can call 845-333-2261 to make an appointment. No outside food or drinks allowed during visit. Two sets of clothing per patient allowed

Rowley Family Birthing Center - OB Delivery (6 South) - Before delivery
Two (2) support persons and a Doula allowed 24/7

Rowley Family Birthing Center - OB Post-Partum (6 North) - After delivery
Two (2) visitors (18 years and older) at a time. Sibling Visitation for 2 yrs and older - Two siblings at a time and duration of siblings visit not to exceed one hour or at the discretion of Nursing Leadership

NICU
NICU visitation is limited to parents, siblings (age 3 and over) and grandparents. Up to 2 additional adults over 18 may be added as a designated visitor upon admission. Siblings may visit on Wednesday and Sunday. Children limited to brief visits (less than 1 hour).

Emergency Department (Outpatient Service)
One (1) support person/visitor per patient, 14 years or older. For patients in double rooms, visitors will need to alternate. Up to two (2) parents/support persons allowed for pediatric patients. Visitors ability to stay with the patient in the Emergency Department Lobby will be dependent on current patient volume.

Outpatient Services, Cancer Center, Garnet Health Doctors & Urgent Care
For surgical/procedural waiting room, 2 support persons per patient. One support person may accompany the patient to the ‘holding area’. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Eating is not permitted in any hospital waiting room.

Visitors for COVID positive patients, or patients who have COVID-like symptoms or are awaiting COVID test results
Visitors must adhere to the specific PPE protocol for COVID-19. Virtual visitation is also available, please call the unit.

Shabbos Room is Open.

GHMC Cafeteria (Main hospital, Ground Floor): Open to Visitors each day 7am-9pm
Chock Full O'Nuts (Main entrance Lobby): Monday through Friday, 8am - Noon (Saturday and Sunday closed)
The Orange Eatery (Outpatient Building): Monday through Friday, 7am - 3pm (Saturday and Sunday closed)
The Crystal Cafe (75 Crystal Run, Pavilion Building): Monday through Friday, 8am - 3pm (Saturday and Sunday closed)

Emergency Department is open 24/7 and limited to one (1) SUPPORT person per patient, 18 years or older. Two (2) screened support people allowed at bedside for pediatric patients. COVID+ visitation permitted and must adhere to the specific PPE protocol for COVID-19. Visitors ability to stay with the patient in the Emergency Department Lobby will be dependent on current patient volume.

Outpatient areas including Garnet Health Doctors
For surgical/procedural waiting room, one support person per patient. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis.

Behavioral Health Unit
Visitation by appointment only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9am-11am. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 6pm-7pm (Go Live 10/24/23). To schedule an appointment call (845) 794-3300 Ext-2809 or 2810. No outside belongings, food or drinks will be allowed on the Behavioral Health Unit.

Harris Campus (Woodland Garden Cafeteria): 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday (Saturday and Sunday closed)
Callicoon Cafeteria: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday through Sunday
Coffee/Gift Shop (Harris Campus, Main entrance lobby): Monday through Friday 9:00am - 5:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Virtual visitation for all patients can be arranged through nursing.
