Hospitalists Program
Your hospital physician, also known as a “hospitalist,” is a board certified internist or family practitioner who devotes his or her practice to the care of hospitalized patients. Hospitalist care for patients who have been referred from primary care doctors, emergency room doctors, or other physicians at the hospital. They do not see patients outside the hospital. Hospitalists are entirely focused on the care and safety of hospitalized patients, and are available in the hospital throughout the day.
In addition to managing and coordinating your care in the hospital, your Hospitalist can answer your questions and address any concerns you may have in a timely manner. Plus, by being familiar with every specialist and department in the hospital, the Hospitalist can promptly follow up on test results and treatments. This results in high quality care for you.
The Hospitalist Service also employs a Patient Care Coordinator that works on your behalf. She works with you and the hospital staff to ensure an excellent hospital stay while working towards a smooth transition for your day of discharge.
