Giving Opportunities

Beautiful spaces like the Lawrence A. Testa Healing Garden can only be developed and sustained through the generosity of others. Recently the Garnet Health Foundation funded a Fitness Trail around the hospital campus' perimeter. Patients, staff and visitors use these natural spaces to enhance their health and quiet reflection.

To continue Mr. Testa's wish to provide outdoor healing spaces, the following is a list of naming opportunities in the Garden and on our new Fitness Trail.

Exercise Stations - $10,000
There are seven stations on the Fitness Trails and all provide different exercises but together offer a full work out. Donor recognition is affixed to an adjacent post. Two stations remain available for naming.

Benches - $5000
Benches are located in the Testa Garden and along the Fitness trail. There are 11 of 13 benches available for naming in the Testa Garden. Benches along the Fitness Trail are sold out. Donor recognition plaque is affixed directly to the bench.

Birdhouses - $1200
Houses are mounted atop a 4x4 post with a donor recognition plaque.

Testa Garden Fund
All gifts to the Fund sustain the Garden for years to come. Improvements and upgrades are needed every season and projects may include new plantings, stream repair, mulch and new decorative stone, among other garden needs.

Brick Pavers
The hospital provides a heavily used outdoor dining area just outside its cafeteria and adjacent to the Conference Center where engraved donor bricks are installed. Two sizes: 8x8, $500 and 4x8, $250.

Principle Gift Naming
There are major gifts that can be transformative to our hospital. These include naming opportunities of major services and buildings. Gifts come in all sizes and shapes and can have significant tax advantages. Visit our planned giving site at garnethealthlegacy.org to plan your special gift.

At a difficult time in our lives, we often think of making Memorial or Tribute Gifts as gestures of love, remembrance and appreciation in lieu of sending flowers. The Garnet Health Foundation receives many Memorial Gifts throughout the year, and often they are designated for a specific area or department of the hospital. The Foundation Office sends an acknowledgement to the family that a gift was made in memory of their loved one. If you would like to direct family and friends to make memorial gifts to Garnet Health Medical Center, the following is suggested language for an obituary or other tribute:

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Garnet Health Foundation in memory of {deceased name} to Garnet Health Foundation, 707 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.

Make a Memorial Gift Donation

Many corporations and businesses encourage philanthropy by matching employee donations. For example, if you made a $100 donation to Garnet Health Foundation, your employer might match that and also contribute $100. Please ask your Human Resources Department if they offer a matching gift program.

We are grateful to our community for gifts to benefit our patients.  New toys, new books and blankets are welcome and do improve patient experience. For example, gift certificates for restaurants, beverages and snacks for the Golf Classic, prizes for drawings, etc. If you would like to discuss an opportunity to support through a Gift-in-Kind donation, please contact the Foundation office. Due to infection control, gifts must be new and unused.

The Footprints Into The Future wall provides blue and pink tiles to be installed on the wall with the name of the infant and their date of birth.

Located in a high visibility area just off the main lobby in the Rowley Family Birthing Center, the wall is located within the Mother Baby area, where parents and families enter and exit the unit to visit new moms and infants staying in the well-baby intensive care unit or the neonatal care unit. The wall includes tiles with positive and inspiration quotes about the importance of children in our lives by Henry David Thoreau, Paul Coehlo and Dr. Seuss.
