Garnet Health Medical Center, formerly Orange Regional Medical Center, is pleased to announce that it provided Thanksgiving Day meals to over 120 families in the community as part of their Beyond the Walls of 707 initiative.
“Beyond the Walls of 707 is a voluntary community support effort that allows us to expand our mission beyond the physical boundaries of the hospital,” said Scott Batulis, President & CEO of Garnet Health. “It is also an opportunity for us to extend ourselves in kindness and compassion.”
Beyond the Walls of 707 started in 2017 out of concern for a patient and their family who Child Life Program Coordinator Michelle Ferguson was working with. The family was worried about how it was going to afford the holidays that year. From there, Michelle worked with Patient Advocacy to develop a plan to assist families with hardships during the holiday season. Now, each year Garnet Health Medical Center teams up with community partners to assist families in the community and our patients who are in need of support.
