Garnet Health Doctors Announces Vice President of Operations

Garnet Health Doctors is pleased to announce the promotion of Raquel Rios-Ortiz to Vice President of Operations.

As Vice President of Operations, Mrs. Rios-Ortiz collaborates with leadership at all three Garnet Health hospitals to ensure the coordination of efforts to improve quality, patient experience and safety. In this role, she is responsible for identifying and implementing best practice standards with physicians and staff to achieve the best patient outcomes possible.

In her previous role as Senior Practice Administrator, Mrs. Rios-Ortiz oversaw the operation of 15 medical specialties including primary and urgent care services. She has been a driving force in areas such as operational planning and management, implementing strategy and transformational change, supporting growth, cultivating a culture of operational excellence in an effort to create a high performing/high quality medical group. Mrs. Rios-Ortiz has 20 years of experience in operations, quality and performance improvement. She joined Garnet Health Doctors in March 2020.

Mrs. Rios-Ortiz earned both her Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Health Care Administration from Iona College. She is also certified in Practical Nursing, Emergency Preparedness, Incident Command Structure, Continuous Quality Improvement and Advanced Healthcare Leadership.
