Garnet Health, formerly Greater Hudson Valley Health System, has partnered with the American Lung Association to host a virtual ‘Freedom from Smoking’ Workshop.
Presented by Garnet Health’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and Community Health Department, the course will take place weekly on Tuesday’s beginning, March 23, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with one additional session on Thursday, April 8.
The American Lung Association’s ‘Freedom from Smoking’ Workshop is an evidence-based program that uses techniques based on pharmacological and psychological principles and methods designed to help tobacco users gain control over their behavior and break their addiction. Over the course of 7 weeks, participants will learn about their smoking habit, build a quit plan and learn how to stay smoke-free.
These sessions are facilitated by Elyse Carroll, BSRT, CTTS, Manager of Garnet Health’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and Tobacco Treatment Specialist. She will lead the group with ongoing support and counseling sessions that are vital for success in maintaining freedom from smoking.
