Orange Regional Medical Center has recently been verified as a Level II Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Orange Regional Medical Center joins 11 other hospitals in New York State who offer this high level of emergent care and is the first Level II Adult Trauma Center in Orange County. Advancing trauma care is significant and Orange Regional Medical Center has been working toward this designation for the past seven years.
“We are proud to be the only Level II Adult Trauma Center providing highly specialized medical treatment and capabilities unavailable at any other hospital in Orange County. Level II Adult Trauma designation means patients, and their families, who require highly specialized care due to tragic events, can be treated at Orange Regional Medical Center instead of being transferred to other facilities farther away,” said Chief Executive Officer Scott Batulis. “This designation reinforces a commitment to provide vital healthcare services to the community.”
“Our Level II Adult Trauma Center features physicians who specialize in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and critical care,” said Trauma Program and Acute Care Surgery Medical Director, Mohammad Siddiqui, MD, MBA, FRCS, FACS. “Our surgeons are double Board-certified in Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care and Trauma Fellowship-trained. They are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with 24/7 operating room availability. This level of care and expertise cannot be found at any other hospital in Orange County.”
Orange Regional Medical Center’s Level II Adult Trauma Center is recognized by the New York State Department of Health and works under the guidelines of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
