Laboratory at Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills

Serving our community of Sullivan County, the Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills’ Department of Laboratory Medicine provides diagnostic testing that helps identify and monitor the medical conditions of patients. Our Department of Laboratory Medicine has been fully accredited by the College of American Pathology (CAP). It is also licensed by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).

We offer the largest diagnostic testing laboratory in Sullivan County. Our lab performs approximately one million tests annually. 

Laboratory Services - Harris Campus

Blood Drawing

Outpatient hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Saturday 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Closed on Sunday.

Appointments are not necessary.

Glucose tolerance testing is available Monday through Friday only. Must arrive before 10:00 a.m.

Legal Urine Drug Collection

This service is available 24/7 for post-accident collections only. Our staff follows federal DOT guidelines. 

Chemistry

Our state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory provides blood and urine testing. Among the tests that your health care provider may request are lipid levels, electrolytes, blood sugar, indicators of heart disease and drug levels. With two new analyzers, the laboratory can quickly provide test results to physicians to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with suspected heart attacks, high cholesterol, drug overdoses, thyroid disorders, rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases.

Hematology

Our hematology laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment that can perform hematological evaluations, coagulation studies used in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of medication, and urine testing for urinary tract functions.

Blood Bank

Our Blood Bank offers blood typing, antibody screening, crossmatch, titer and prenatal services.

Laboratory Services - Grover M. Hermann Hospital Division

Many laboratory services are also offered at the Grover M. Hermann Hospital Division campus in Callicoon, New York.

Monday – Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Closed Sunday

Testing performed on site includes:

  • Glucose tolerance testing - NOTE: Available Monday through Friday only. Must arrive before 10:00 a.m.
  • Point of care coagulation testing by fingerstick (with a physician order specifying point of care or fingerstick collection)
  • Coagulation testing (sample collection by venipuncture)
  • Cardiac tests
  • General chemistry testing
  • Hematology
  • Urinalysis
